Kennedy + Interiors launched officially in 2014, but has been Felicity Kennedy’s way of life for over 35 years.
Felicity’s mother was an interior decorator and lecturer at Western Australia's Institute of Technology, and she has fond memories of her mother devouring the Italian Interiors magazine “Mia Casa”, an unusual magazine circa Perth, 1974.
Growing up in beautiful surroundings, Felicity developed an innate sense of design and proportion for interiors. Carrying forward this designer DNA has been a seamless process, and Felicity has converted her understanding of interiors into a business.
Felicity’s initial work background was in advertising and marketing, gaining a diploma certificate in direct marketing.
She later switched gears, establishing “The French Trading Co” which specialised in importing French garden urns, including Anduze-style urns from Poterie de la Madeline, the first to be imported in Australia on a commercial basis. This lead to many other French home wares bought and sold exclusively by Felicity.
Along came small children so the importing business took a back seat, and over the years Felicity was asked to help with decorating friends and acquaintances' homes, gardens and businesses. Felicity also styled many interiors photographic shoots.
Organically her business was growing.
Without a doubt, her favourite decorating project to date has been her own home.
“I was able to unleash all my ideas without restrictions, and the result has been more than satisfactory. I am so pleased that all the ideas harbored in my mind, translated into a decor that is always well received ...... so well received, I decided to formally begin Kennedy + Interiors.”
Felicity's writing on design and interiors has appeared in magazines including Australian Vogue Living, Vogue Entertaining & Travel, Mercedes Magazine, Scoop Magazine and various travel websites.
